We are thrilled to announce the launch of our new updated edition of “An included life“, a handbook for families of children with a disability from Bob Jackson PhD, Inclusive Consultant (Updated for 2023 – previously called “Planning and Making Choices”).
This edition is jam-packed with even more information and strategies to help you plan and make choices for a more inclusive life, and is now available to download from our DDWA “Transition” web page: click on the booklet-cover image for “An included life” when you’re on our DDWA Transition web page.

One of the most significant changes in this new edition is the completely rewritten chapter designed to provide you with a comprehensive guide to better understand why someone may engage in challenging behaviours, as well as how to better respond to these behaviours in a positive and proactive way.
In this new chapter, we cover life’s:
- important assumptions,
- needs,
- common experiences and their impact, plus
- Glasser’s classification of needs, and how to determine and meet those needs.
We also explore the purpose and influence of behaviour and provide some practical strategies for reducing environmental stress.

It is available in a user-friendly online format, making it accessible from any device at any time, or you can purchase a hard copy for delivery.
