Why Trust is Important – the film
“Why Trust is Important” is part of our Friendship Project, which explores the importance of trust in building and maintaining meaningful relationships.
The Friendship Project is all about making friends and keeping them. It was made by DDWA, who worked with a group of people with intellectual disability. We made videos about friendships from people’s ideas. “Why trust is important” is one video/film in a series.
If you want to make friends and learn more about friendship, here is a great place to start!
In the video, we talk about how important trust is for friendships. Trust means doing what you say you’ll do. Making friends takes time, and trusting someone might feel scary at first. We mention signs that show you can trust someone, like them listening and supporting you, being honest, respectful, and caring. The video also suggests questions to ask yourself about your friend, such as if they help you when you need them and if you feel good when you’re together.
Being announced as a finalist is recognition to celebrate our commitment to empowering people with developmental and intellectual disabilities.
Today, we need YOUR help! Please, cast your vote and help us spread the message of friendship and trust.
