We are cautiously optimistic about the ongoing negotiations with the Department of Education WA and the Department of Social Services (DSS).
These discussions are progressing well, and we expect to announce positive outcomes soon, including potential funding for our Specialist Individual Education Advocacy Service and broader business activities.
Over the past two months, we have faced significant challenges, including the closure of our specialist education advocacy service due to funding constraints (see news 1 July 2024, here). And the loss of our funding from Department of Social Services for general business operations and projects (see news 30 May 2024, here).
However, the strong support from our community, particularly your efforts in lobbying on our behalf, has been invaluable. Your advocacy has helped us reach this hopeful stage, and we remain committed to securing the necessary resources to continue our work.
We will keep you informed as these developments unfold. Thank you for standing with us during this critical time.
