Your Service, Your Rights! when getting NDIS services

TWO FREE in-person workshops for people with an intellectual disability to talk about getting your rights met when getting services through the NDIS.

You’re invited to attend BOTH Tues 16 May and Tues 23 may (3:30-6pm)…

Workshop 1: Rights and Services       

Tuesday, 16th May 2022: 3:30-6 pm

  • What are rights?
  • Why are rights important for everyone?
  • What is the NDIS Commission?
  • How can you make a complaint to the NDIS Commission?

Workshop 2: Speaking up and Supports

Tuesday, 23rd May 2022, 3:30-6 pm

  • Why is it important to speak up?
  • Where can you get supports?
  • How can your services include you?

Your support person or carer is welcome to drop you off or
stay for the workshops if you like.

These workshops are about:

  • Rights and Services: What are your rights and why are they important for everyone? How do you know if you’re getting your rights met by your service?
  • Making a Complaint: What good services should do, how to speak up when something feels wrong with your service; the NDIS Commission.
  • Speaking Up and Supports: How can you speak up to make things better? Where can you get support? What’s an advocate
  • Being Involved: What ways can you be involved in speaking up about your services and supports?

At these two workshops you can discuss what a good service should do, the Code of Conduct of Support Workers, what to do if you feel something is wrong with your services and how to speak up to get things made better.
