WORKSHOP for families: Approaching Adulthood (ONLINE)

10th April 2025, online 10am -12:30pm: What do you need to know for your child with disability when they are 14-18+ years old?

This popular workshop for family/carers will cover crucial questions and concerns frequently raised by families regarding Centrelink, NDIS and Medicare for young people with intellectual disability aged 14, 16, 18 – those who are approaching adulthood. It’s especially important to know what you should start doing before your child turns 16. We’ll talk about what you need to know.

We will cover a range of topics, including:

  • Medicare Privacy After a Child Turns 14
  • Centrelink: Centrelink Nominees, Disability Support Pension, Health Care Card
  • Carer Payments/Allowance (16+ years) 
  • NDIS Nominees  
  • Guardianship / Administration
