On the Couch: ‘How to deal with feeling stressed’

Let’s talk about what can help when feeling stressed.

Who is invited?

DDWA’s ‘On the Couch’ events are open to adults over 18 with an intellectual disability. First-timers are welcome!

At our upcoming event for our ‘On the Couch’ crew, we will talk about:

  • What is stress?
  • Things that can cause stress
  • What tools can I use to help me deal with stress?
  • Self-care tips about looking after my mental health

This event will be co-presented by by Jessica Toster, an adult with Down Syndrome and also a person with intellectual disability with an interest in meditation, relaxation and well-being. Jessica has worked with DDWA for over 10 years in the role of Office Assistant.

Please bring a towel or yoga mat for relaxation exercise.

Refreshments will be available.

ALSO ** NEWS ** There will be a stall with products to purchase for yourself or as gifts. Sham’s Beauty Products will be on sale at this event, so bring your money or credit/debit cardSham is a person with a range of disabilities. She produces body products like soaps and moisturisers from scratch, and also proposes hand massages using her products. This will be a fun addition to our wellbeing and relaxation event.
