At our next :”On the Couch” event for people 18+ with intellectual disability, we will talk about ‘Bouncing Back from Rejection’.
Rejection can be how it feels when …
- someone does not want to be a friend
- you do not get a job you’ve applied for
- someone does not call you back
- You don’t get invited to a party or event
- You don’t get on team you really wanted to
Our Guest Presenter is Juana Terpou. Juana worked at Sexuality Education Counselling and Consultancy Agency (SECCA) and is a senior psychotherapist and counsellor who has long experience in the area of relationships.
This session is about bouncing back from that rejection. This is called resilience.
Who is invited?
- People over 18 years old with and intellectual disability.
- First timers are welcome!
Support people are welcome to stay if needed for assistance or they can return to pick you up after the session.

DDWA “On the Couch” workshops have been running since 2019. They are an opportunity for adults with Intellectual disability to talk about set topics of interest in a supportive social setting.
