DAWA Summit: Living with Significant Intellectual Disability “What We’ve Heard…”

EVENT OPEN TO ALL: Please regsister to join us for DAWA’s Summit, Follow-Up Event: 22nd August 2024 (9am – 12noon): Floreat WA: Living with Significant Intellectual Disability: Challenging the Gaps “What We’ve Heard…”

This event will further discuss the report’s content, recommendations, and opportunities for advocacy. We will be joined by family members, people with disability and representatives from the WA disability industry and various levels of government, including the Hon Minister for Disability, Don Punch.

This DAWA Summit is open to public not just Disability Assembly WA members.

Why This Event?

It’s challenging for those outside the experience to envision what ‘good’ looks like. With conflicting information, it’s crucial to amplify the collective voice of disability to define and design real, sustained changes in our community. We all aim to feel alive, vibrant, included, valued, and to live a thriving life. While our end goal is universal, the journey there is unique for each of us.

Join us for a half-day summit where you’ll hear from people with lived experience of disability, exceptional professionals, and influential decision-makers in the WA disability system. This event is about real-world, practical, and lived experiences to unite changemakers and decision-makers to shape a more inclusive future.

The event will be held:

On: Friday 22nd August 2024

From: 9:00am to 12:00pm

At: The Boulevard Centre, 99 The Boulevard, FLOREAT WA 6014
