If you’d like to make a difference in the lives of people with disability and support them to exercise real choice and control, we would like to hear from you.
- Do you like working with people?
- Do you have experience working with people whose behaviour can be seen as challenging?
- Do you have an understanding of the NDIS and making the NDIS work well for people?
- Do you have a good sense of humour and can think BIG?
- Do you want a role with very flexible working arrangements?
Developmental Disability WA is seeking applications from people who would like to join our team of Support Coordinators.
Since 1985, DDWA has been empowering people with developmental disability and their families through advocacy, information, education and support. More recently we have commenced providing NDIS Support Coordination and Specialist Support Coordination services.
The ideal candidate will have a disability or have a close family member that they support with disability and be familiar with the planning, policies and processes of the NDIS. Alternatively, you may be currently working as an awesome Support Coordinator but more importantly, you will have values that are aligned with ours. You may also have an allied health background, but this is not essential.
You will have an understanding of the Human Rights Convention of the Rights of People with Disability and a deeply held belief that all people have value and all have the right to be included (and supported as needed) in their local communities, schools and workplaces.
You will see your role with people with disability and their families as being to follow and support their leadership as experts in their own lives and needs.
You will be a fast learner and be prepared to attend training and induction. You will also need to be savvy with technology (our systems are all cloud based), have attention to detail, good record keeping and problem solving and research skills and be a strong communicator.
If you would like more information about the conditions of employment, please email firstname.lastname@example.org and an information sheet will be emailed to you.
To submit an application, please email a covering letter about yourself and attach your CV (less than three pages please) to email@example.com by Friday 3 July 2020.
