Access Key for Changing Places
Changing Room Keys for WA Companion Cardholders
Changing Places are secure and private facilities for people with disability who need extra space and assistance to use the bathroom.
Previously, a key had to be obtained from the person in charge of the facility, but now the Companion Card is the Access Key.
The Master Locksmiths Access Key (MLAK) is an innovative system that enables people with disabilities to gain 24/7 access to a network of public facilities.
The MLAK access key and locking system ensures the Changing Place facilities are safe and secure when not in use, and are available to those who need them.
The State Government will fund free* master locksmith access keys (MLAK) for people with disability to access Changing Places toilet facilities. *The MLAK key offer is available to all WA Companion Card holders in conjunction with National Disability Services WA.
Note that the MLAK key will also fit most liberty swings such as the one in Kalamunda.
